ABOUT ABOUT

Herbalism is the use of plants as medicine. For millennia, different plants have been used in every corner of the Earth to heal the mind, body, and soul. Whether or not you are aware of it, your ancestors used native plants daily to prevent and fight off illness, physical ailments, and disease. Incorporating herbalism into our daily lives is something we are all capable of today too: foods and drinks can be transformed into medicine, our skincare routines can include some plant magic, and even a walk through the garden can be good medicine on it's own. One of the simplest ways to begin using, exploring, and studying herbs is by drinking teas and herbal infusions.

In celebration of the teas we are serving at our HEARTH dinner series, we will spend the day collecting herbs and enjoying tea on the farm. We will walk through the farm and nursery together identifying different plants and discussing their medicinal uses. We will go over harvesting and drying techniques and discuss the art of making tea blends.

After the farm walk, we will head back to the courtyard and have an intentional tea time. We will taste different types of tea from our collection and then embark on the journey of blending.

At the end of the day, you will leave with some fresh herbs for drying at home and a tea blend of your creation.
