A sensory, hands-on learning experience of the wonders of the garden for children up to 5 years old and their parents.
The Ecology Center’s stimulating outdoor learning environment is a popular destination for countless families in our community. Our Eco Tots program takes the fun to a deeper level, with a guided exploration of our diverse and holistic landscape. From our native plants garden to the vegetable beds, from the greenhouse to the chicken coop, each element will excite your child’s imagination while connecting them with the natural rhythms of life. These experiences are more than fun—numerous studies show that gardening offers rich developmental benefits such as encouraging physical activity, mental and emotional resilience, improved social skills, and increased consciousness and value around health, the environment, and a diverse community.
Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, your child will form the building blocks to a healthy, active, and conscious future while participating in activities such as:
- Feed and interact with our farm chickens
- Use compost tea and harvested rainwater to water our gardens
- Create art inspired by the garden
- Explore our sensory garden box
- Make music and sing guided garden songs
