ABOUT ABOUT

Join us in tapping into the wealth of indigenous knowledge and uncovering a new vision of the world around us, ages 7-12!

Ready to see with fresh eyes? This unique workshop is led by Lazaro Arvizu, Jr., an artist, culture bearer, educator, musician, and researcher dedicated to the culture of the first people of California and Mesoamerica. Guided by his deep expertise of the landscape and cosmology of our region, students will use a variety of disciplines to explore relationships between plants and humans while learning respect, reciprocity, and recognition as foundational practices for life as part of a community. Activities include making paintbrushes, jewelry, and flutes using natural fibers.

Tuesdays starting December 7 to February 8, 2022.
