ABOUT ABOUT

Fire Cider is a popular herbal remedy made from steeping immunity-boosting herbs, roots, and fruit peels in probiotic-rich vinegar. Shared and adapted throughout history, this classic home remedy is still a favorite for herbalists and healthy families alike, thanks to its many beneficial effects. Along with offering anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral support, Fire Cider acts as a decongestant, boosts circulation, and is even said to have a coffee-like stimulatory effect.

Traditional fire cider is made by infusing apple cider vinegar with warming herbs like horseradish, garlic, onion, ginger, and hot peppers. Recipes can be adapted based on the season and your intention for taking it, whether it be protection from cold and flu season or supporting digestion during the slower months of winter.

At this Fire Cider workshop, we will explore the history of fire cider as well as other fermented foods common throughout the Americas. We’ll brew our own batches of fire cider while sharing insights about the concept of food as medicine and the benefits of each ingredient. At the end of this collaborative workshop, you’ll take home your own batch of fire cider to protect your family all season long. Those winter colds won’t know what hit them.
